Our History

Stephen Cooper created falselyaccused.co.uk in 2006, having previously worked his through various investigative and criminal defence establishments (including working in the USA, Canada, Germany, France, Australia and Dubai). For his own personal reasons in 1990, Stephen began to devote his practice exclusively to assisting the falsely accused and wrongfully convicted and to studies and cases dealing with false allegations for criminal defense, legal malpractice and overturning convictions for the innocent.

As of 2011, Stephen celebrates 21 years experience as a Legal Enquiry Agent specialising solely in Criminal Defence work for those who have been falsely accused or wrongly convicted. He is as passionate about his work as are the rest of the team as he does not operate alone and has the benefit of a dedicated support team, from Queens Counsel and Barristers to Solicitors, Paralegals, Clerks, Secretaries and Investigators. We believe and take extreme pride in teamwork and believe that the client must be part of the team.

During the past 21 years and since our creation in 2006, Stephen and his team have assisted many people and have represented human beings from all walks of life, the young and old, from council estates to privileged backgrounds. The working man and woman, solicitors, firemen, doctors, dentists, nurses, chemists, accountants, school teachers, scout leaders, armed forces personnel, students, captains of industry to directors and employees of financial institutions, media celebrities and sports personalities. Please see our Testimonials page for further information.

Stephen also educated himself with case history studies and conducting interviews with experts worldwide, including Judges, Child Advocates, Queens Counsel, Barristers, Solicitors, CPS workers, Probation Officers, Police Officers, Medical Doctors, Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Social Services Officers, Research Specialists, Professors, Investigators plus prior victims of false allegations and their families as a means to discover how false allegations and wrongful convictions occur so that by learning, we all could better assist others.

Our firm’s motto “Passion Beyond Doubt” say’s what we feel and to that end we all here at falselyaccused.co.uk are extremely passionate about our work, this is reflected in many of our testimonials. We are proud to state that within his 21 year career our Managing Director and his team has been directly involved with 197 appeals and trials of which all had extremely high achievement rate with optimum results.

Stephen has a formidable proven and traceable track record and for that reason in 2006 he achieved the accolade of UK Outstanding Investigator of the year for the World Association of Professional Investigators. It was remarked “The combination of Stephen’s unprecedented knowledge and experience of dealing with cases of wrongful conviction was praised by the Judges in “R v Luxford [COA 2003 EWCA Crim 3327]”. His outstanding contribution to fighting injustice and for his unstinting determination to correct wrongful convictions through his work with Appeal cases he has developed a deep understanding and knowledge of the processes and procedures of the Court of Appeal. He is a credit to our Association” (See Testimonial page for more information).
